Come and visit a beautiful area of Monmouthshire and learn a new skill in a cosy, country workshop. Textiles at The Weir is a studio based at a working small holding on the outskirts of Llanddewi Rhydderch, a small village just outside the market town of Abergavenny.
We provide a variety of textile based day courses including hand and machine embroidery, felting, embellishing, fabric painting and printing.
Our courses cater for all abilities from total beginners to the more experienced people looking for new challenges and techniques.
All courses are taught in small groups up to six with lots of opportunities for one-to-one tuition. The aim is for everyone to produce piece of work by the end of the day.
During this course we will explore how to introduce plants and flowers into our work using hand and machine techniques, including free machine embroidery which is like drawing and painting but using the sewing machine!
